Extra Curricular Activities
Extra Curricular activities include a lunchtime program entitled ‘Recess Rescue’ – incorporating organised, optional lunchtime activities/sports such as soccer, touch football, cricket, bocce, tennis, volleyball, newcombe ball, basketball, duster hockey, quiz competitions, gymnastics, chess, crafts, drama, sewing and a radio station rotated through lunch times for all grades throughout the year.
Optiminds, offers students the opportunity to extend their lateral thinking skills in an interschool competition.
The school musical and arts program is offered as an opportunity for students to extend their skills in the performing arts
Interschool sport is organised to allow neighbouring schools to participate in a semi competitive nature.
Each year children from Central Highlands schools have the opportunity to participate in choir, verse speaking and band competitions in the following Esteddfods: Central Highlands and Rockhampton.
The ‘Shine’ program is a values education program offered to female students in year 7. With its motto, “To be the best ME that I can be,” the program allows students over a 12 week period to develop personal skills, develop problem solving skills and build up their self confidence. A similar program is in the pipeline for male students.
